#2 daughter is 50

We went to Whitley Bay to spend the day with #2 daughter who is celebrating her 50th birthday. It’s hard to believe especially as it seems no time since I was 50, when my 3 daughters were grown up and took me to Claridges for tea. Here she is with boys aged 10 and 12.

Luke, Ella and Nathaniel came to join
us for an Indian meal at Ahar. I hadn’t realised the salmon dish I chose was HOT. I couldn’t really eat it especially when I chomped into a green bean to find it was a chilli. Ella is hard core and ate all hers. Nathaniel doesn’t like anything too spicy so enjoyed his prawn korma. Thomas had a mixed grill tandoori and James tandoori prawns. Poor #3 daughter couldn’t come as she had a parents’ evening and was still feeling rough with the cold she’s had for a week. We got her a takeaway and she met us back at the house for cake and champagne. Daughter loved the amethyst stud earrings her sister got her and the gold circular dangly ones I got her. Nothing compared with the half caret diamond studs Phil gave her. They are manufactured ones which are more ethical.

Mr C and I are wilting now. I think the busy trip and socialising when we got back is catching up.
