Pooled supper

We had a good sleep till almost 10am and felt ready for the day. Mr C dealt with paperwork/admin while I made a cake for #2 daughter’s 50th tomorrow. Unfortunately the edible book border thing I bought on line before we left, to go round the cake, is minute.

I also wrapped brother in law’s 80th birthday present. He’s not having his party was 80 guests now as his brother died last month - only his woman friend and his daughters and families are attending now so I have to get it in the post asap. Also need to get a hoodie for Ella who will be 13 at the weekend and something for Chris too.

Lots of washing was done.

Tonight we went with food to Gerry’s supper. It used to be the walking group supper after a walk but none of them wants to, or are able to, walk now so it’s a supper club. It was all delicious. We had interesting conversations - obviously none about Colombia because nobody was interested in that - house renovations, Trump, Reform UK, food, Linda’s grandson, Sarah’s children and what our parents or grandparents did in the war, books - Linda loved Rachel Cusk and Katy raved about Townes short stories - and I even got Nathaniel’s new role a mention. It wax very relaxed and pleasant.

They all look more like they’ve been on a long haul flight than Mr C who is more than 10 years older than they are.
