Plans Foiled...

Today was to be fun day...driving with Elaine up to our friend Sandy's to attend her library's Tea and Books afternoon presentation. It makes for a really enjoyable outing..a change of scenery, lunch in this cute little cafe we like, and then joining other book lovers to find out what is new and worth reading! There are usually 5  books presented and we always manage to be interested enough in at least one of them to add it to our book club list.

Alas, the weather forecast of snow followed by freezing rain put an end to that plan... and to any other outings requiring walking or driving on ice.

My day was spent working on this needlepoint project that still presents me with challenges  - trying to make up for mistakes made on it in the past or making new ones that I decide to just leave as is and not bother tearing out and doing over. I am no longer a perfectionist - and life is much easier for that.

I also spent time of course, keeping abreast of the latest shenanigans coming from south of the border and when that got to be too distressing, switched over to Blipfoto and read through more of the travel journal postings of one of our very talented blippers. Wow... what photos, and such great descriptions. The woman should publish a book!

So the day was not a total loss - I made progress on my project and thoroughly enjoyed my armchair travels...and Mr. Hawk even made an appearance...(extra)
