Timber

Nick has been doing a bit of thinning of part of our woodland but it was a bit of an awkward journey to transport the resultant logs back to the wood store. Not to be beaten, Nick and neighbour John devised this pulley system to get them from one side of the stream to the other, one bucketful at a time, where they were then tipped into the trailer on the back of the quad bike (extra). The system worked very well.
We have had beautiful sunny weather all day with a  cloudless blue sky, although the breeze was a bit chilly. I kept warm as I moved the last of the branches discarded from the hedge laying.
We ended our day in a very sociable way when six of us gathered for very tasty fish and chip takeaways followed by a yummy homemade Swiss roll.
