Surprise appearance

I was delighted to come across this group of crocus when I wandered through a bit of the garden I hadn’t been to for a few days. They have multiplied beautifully over the the years, perhaps aided by bird guano as they are close to the bird table.
It has been a lovely sunny day and I achieved quite a lot in the garden. There was also a lot going on in our vicinity. BT were doing work in preparation for the installation of fibre optic broadband sometime in the future. This involved using heavy machinery to dig a small ditch part of the way up our shared driveway. Meanwhile, a local tree surgeon was continuing his job of felling some large coniferous tree in a nearby neighbour’s garden. It was all happening in our normally quiet corner of the island!
