Chasing rainbows

The weather looked quite promising when Bertie and I left home this morning but by the time we arrived at the Langamull track there was a dark cloud to the north and the bottom was falling out of it. Optimistically, I thought that the cloud would pass and the rain would miss us. (How wrong could I be?) A rainbow came and went as the sun shone before being  masked intermittently by a small cloud behind us. Then suddenly, we were engulfed by hailstones! Fortunately they didn’t last too long and after they passed we were treated to a complete rainbow in front of us. I was surprised at the layer of hailstones still on the road as we drove home after our walk.
