Not too bad a day at work. My boss and his seven year old son flew over from Switzerland just for an eye test and visual stress assessment, then flew back this afternoon. I should be flattered!
Mad dash into town to meet my ‘Menopause Club’ for a quick tapas at Le Sal and then across the road for the filmed 40th anniversary concert of Les Mis which took place at the Gielgud Theatre in London.

Alfie Boe, Michael Ball were on stunning form but for me, it was Matt Lucas as Thenardier who stole the show. Hilarious.
The voices were magnificent and despite there being no acting, the show was brilliant . Even more so that at the end the newest Javer was handed his great coat by Michael Ball who is finally hanging up his.
And then just when we thought we couldn’t be wowed anymore, four previous Valjeans came on and harmonised with Alfie Boe. Bring him home.
Not a dry eye in the house.
Cameron Mackintosh and the original genius composer Claude-Michel Schönberg came in stage with a rather elderly Alain Boublil, the lyricist waved from the box.
What with a big cuppa tea and a bag of Revels I was in heaven. The perfect night

If you get the chance. Go see!
