Common dolphins

Went on a whale watching trip with our visitors today. Out of the bulk of whale season, with just the possibility of rate blue whale sighting. Sadly not to be, but we did see various pods of common dolphins who rode our bow wave as pictured here. Conditions were fair (rougher than I've been on previously) bit mellowed out as we progressed. Still, didn't stop the back if the boat from looking like a war zone with people slumped over with heads in sick bags.

Home for lunch and planned on going to top of mount Soledad for the view, but everyone too lethargic and sleepy after the ocean air so just lazed around until dinner time and headed to Karl Strauss in la jolla village for beer and burger. Followed by a walk around the cove looking at the seals and sea lions as sea lions as the sun set behind the marine layer.

Stand up paddle boarding at la jolla shores and perhaps Torrey pines tomorrow!
