A Great Day for a Long Drive

Hubby was up at 5:00. I followed a bit after 6:00. He finished putting bags in his SUV while I packed the coolers. He showered and I made my breakfast. We were on the road after my shower, around 8:30. My sister and BIL were two hours ahead of us. But I doubt they were still awake at 1:00 am. Traffic was light except for a few typically congested areas. The sky was amazing today regardless of which direction we traveled. They are expecting an ice storm tomorrow in the mountains; so glad we left today. We stopped at one rest area and for a burger at a drive thru. Last stop was the grocery store for dairy items, bread, milk and fresh produce. We are hoping to be at the farm by 5:00. My sister called and warned us the road to their house has a large deep area that is muddy/slippery and almost impassable. Can’t wait for that adventure-no guard rails and the road hugs a steep cliff!. Really happy we have 4-wheel drive. Maybe I will take a nap. Wishing you safer adventures.
