Clocking Up 25 Years
Here’s our son Chris celebrating 25 years of having worked for Clarks’ shoe company. He started working on Saturdays in the local shoe shop while he was at 6th form college, then did various jobs in the holidays while he was at University and has worked in a whole variety of admin jobs in Head Office after he finished Uni.
The days of gold clocks and pocket watches being long gone, he was presented with an Amazon voucher and the props you see in the photo! Always a good sport he got into the spirit of the occasion - though I’m not sure he wore the crown all day!
He called in after work to show us the company letter he was presented with and the card signed by colleagues and to say hi to Sophie who is having her regular Tuesday sleepover.
You can see from the empty desks the effect that rounds of redundancy combined working from home are having on the office.
This is something of a cheat as, obviously, I wasn’t there to take this photo but I have edited it a bit so hope I’ll be excused this once as I couldn’t let the occasion go unmarked.
