Bird Spotting

We had planned to stop at Ely on our way home and look round the cathedral. I've always wanted to see it and every time we drive past and see the octagonal tower I say that 'next time' we'll stop.
But last night we decided to make the most of our time in Norfolk and have another day exploring somewhere we've never been before.
Breakfast was delicious again - granola, yoghurt and fruit followed by avocado and poached eggs on toast again. Delish!
Then we checked out, spluttering our way through a complaint about the vile vegan crumble. We're not natural complainers! But it was all good and they took it off the bill. Whoop whoop!
We celebrated with an hour or so in the lounge playing scrabble and drinking free tea and coffee!
Then it was to Titchwell RSPB reserve for the afternoon. What a beautiful place. I LOVED it!
Reedbeds, marshes, saltwater lagoons, freshwater lagoons, mudflats, fabulous hides, access to a magnificent endless beach, boardwalks (I may have told Mr K once or twice how much I love a boardwalk!), swamps, meadows, woods.
And so many birds! From the superstar Marsh Harrier to the tiny long tail tits squabbling on the feeders. And lots of my favourite curlews.
We stayed until it was getting dark, just time for a cup of tea in the cafe before heading home. Sailing past Ely cathedral as usual!
Back to Nana, the Little Misses and Archie who gave us a lovely welcome.
