North Norfolk
After our gluttony last night - and the disgusting vegan crumble - we didn’t have the best night’s sleep.
I spent most of the night swearing I’d never eat again.
And then it was morning and off to breakfast with us!!!
A delicious looking full English for Mr K and amazing avocado and poached egg on sourdough for me. Yum!!!
Rather than collapse on to the sofas for the rest of the day we set off to an explore of the very beautiful Burnham Market. Georgian gorgeousness, fishmongers, grocers, butchers, bookshops, hardware store, a couple of tearooms and restaurants, a couple of beautiful churches and a post office where I posted an eBay parcel I’d brought with me.
Pretty much my perfect village.
Only the few chichi clothes shops and holiday let agents give away what a holiday hotspot it is.
I bought a lovely print of our favourite walk up Snowdon in the bookshop. I have a photo taken from the exact same spot so that’s a definite future blip!
Then we drove the short way to the coast at Burnham Deepdale and had a lovely couple of hours walking the coast path along to Brancaster Staithe and then back along towards Burnham Overy Staithe.
I love love love the North Norfolk Coast Path. The huge sky, fresh air, the marshes, the mud, the birds, the lobster pots, nets and old mussel sorters strewn about. There’s nowhere like it!
And it doesn’t hurt that after our walk there’s the fabulous Thornham Deli for tea and cake. Lemon drizzle for Mr K and carrot cake for me. Yummy!
Back to the hotel for scrabble in the lounge before dinner. We live on the edge!
Annoyingly there were some people in there tonight watching Trump’s inauguration. I thought it was all going to kick off at one point between a couple of groups of Boomers watching. One lot clearly for, one lot clearly against!
Luckily they all went off to dinner and we had a bit of peace.
Dinner was delicious. Mr K had burger and chips, I had the two course special - homemade scotch egg, followed by chicken chasseur. We decided not to risk pudding!
