Back from the sick bed
No blips for the last two days because for much of the time I didn't feel well enough to get out of bed, never mind go out and take photos. And without even a cat to console me now. After a terrible night's sleep, on Saturday I only got up to reheat some porridge for lunch and heat up a Picard packet I luckily found in the freezer for dinner. My Fitbit told me I'd slept for 13 1/2 hours.
Surprisingly, after a very inactive day I felt well enough by Sunday evening to go to my book group -- I didn't want to miss it as we were discussing The Bee Sting. We had a good discussion, although I had been hoping someone hated it -- nobody did!
Today I still felt OK and since by lunchtime, after so many dismal cloudy days, it was a glorious "spring" day (in January!), I decided I had to go out with the walking group. Five of us plus two dogs set off for a flattish walk through the vines, and as you can see we were gradually shedding clothes as we went. It was positively hot, and we were flagging as we toiled up the last hill before home. Stats: 7.8 km, 36 m climbing, 2 hours. Finally clocked up over 10,000 steps! We agreed to do a shorter one next time as some of us were pretty pooped. I must admit it's a very long time since I've walked that far. I was glad I went though -- it would have been a shame to stay indoors on such a lovely day, and it was nice to have people to chat to.
And now, a hot bath beckons!
