Elements of a landscape
All present and correct, except for the pylon(s) obviously. It started to rain at bedtime yesterday evening, and today was a mixture of sunshine and showers. I set out for my afternoon walk under blue skies, but when I got to this point the looming clouds and spitting rain caused me to turn swiftly homewards. Luckily I got there in time to dodge the downpour and had still managed 5,000 steps.
On my walk I listened to another episode of Strangers on a Bench. It's a great concept, really well executed. I'm sure Tom gets many refusals and some disappointments, but today's "guest" was both fascinating and moving. You just don't know what some average looking guy on a bench will open up about to a sympathetic listener. In this case, an eighty-something Glaswegian man on a bench in Regents Park turned out to have some completely unexpected stories to tell, and Tom must have felt very privileged to be confided in like that. It's Episode 5 -- highly recommended.
