Tree down
Walking back from getting the papers this morning in glorious sunny weather we came across Lance cutting this tree up. It doesn’t look much but it was across our main access loop. Far from being thanked for clearing the lane he had two run ins with drivers insisting he back up his car, which had no where else to go. He was a bit glum about it especially as there are other routes out. Woody loves him so we spent a cheerful few minutes trying to work out what the dead core of the toppled tree was given that both holly and ivy had grafted onto it.
At home I made some flapjacks involving cranberries. I made some to take to Mum for lunch but she (or rather her carer) cancelled on me as she got a better offer! Lunch in the village. I’ll pop over on Monday.
I made a good winter salad for lunch and then popped into Petersfield to get some things for supper. Did some raking up of leaves from the cobbles round the barn and put them in leaf mould bags. I hope they fare better than the last ones that rotted down so much they disappeared and I think were taken away by someone who was mowing the lawn.
Cooked in my new Netherton Foundry pan which is not a non stick pan as I am trying to wean myself off them. They are so expensive and only last a few years which can’t be sustainable. I’m not sure I’ll ever wean V off them though as the myriad steps to keeping the new pan happy are a bit daunting.
Watched another ep of Bad Sisters which we loved - we weren’t sure to start with, and it is much darker but it took a good turn.
