How many have you read?

The Waterstones Table top challenge. This table might be seen as modern hits or even modern classics and I have, scout’s honour, read most of them. Smug face. I have never tackled Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell but I lived alongside my son reading it so feel I have.

Didn’t have a good night, i heard scrabbling at around 3am and got up to investigate. It was bright outside as tonight was full moon.  The sound  It seemed to be coming from the flat roof - the part between the thatch.  What could it be? Nightbrain was sure it was a rat and it might be I suppose but could it be an owl? I went over to the spare room and managed to get back to sleep under the pillowy thatch.

Up on the usual train. Today’s oddity was a young woman putting her hair carefully in curlers before applying make up.

I spent the morning at FCC signing off VFX for the show.   We’re getting there!

Afternoon i the office and then dinner with my friend Lorenzo at Blanchette. He’s a good friend and we’ve known each other for years but he’s currently a colleague which is both useful for me and absolutely no use where it matters! But good advice and a lovely meal.

Watched the start of Killers of the Flower Moon on the train home…trying to mop up the final Bafta films that I haven’t watched before voting closes.

Finished reading Old God’s Time by Sebastian Barry.  Took a while to get stuck into what is at times an occasionally irritating stream of word association but then it drew me in and had a terrific ending.
