Shades of lockdown
Strong vibes of lockdown today. Neither of us went out. It didn't seem sensible with 60-70 mph winds outside during the middle of the day, and by the evening any sense of normality had dissipated so it didn't really seem worthwhile going out. What is open, anyway? But overall, neither of us felt that Storm Éowyn constituted the highest winds we'd experienced in this building over the years. But sorry to read about those who have been much more seriously inconvenienced by the storm.
After a disturbed night sleep, I didn't stir until nearly 8.15am, and I didn't feel in the slightest bit guilty, despite it being a Friday. I had a focused successful day working through stuff on my to do list, with very little email coming in to distract me. I did one or two things I had been putting off for a while, although I didn't get on to a really big job, which comprises reading a lot of job applications. I only paused mid afternoon to do a light peloton work out.
This evening we watched a couple more programmes about Pompeii. Some good ones on the TV at the moment about this always fascinating topic.
