Feeling the Heat

I don’t  know why I feel so  much warmer when YouTube kindly plays me a video of a log fire crackling in a virtual fireplace, but I do and at the same time I’m  also saving the atmosphere from airborne pollutants.

It seemed like the calm before what is predicted as Red Alert weather when storm Éowyn blows in overnight. With schools closed in central Scotland tomorrow, I wonder if things will be really as bad as is forecast. Certainly there was no inkling today of anything untoward in this neck of the woods - there was no wind and it was generally a bright day but chilly. Hence my virtual fire.
The sea was calm and the buses came without too much waiting around. Several of us commented on the fact that the traffic was uncharacteristically light and there seemed far fewer bus commuters than normal. Maybe people don’t work on a Thursday.

Fearing that in fact we might all be blown to Kingdom come tomorrow, I made 2 separate sorties after my beach safari, first to post a parcel and after lunch to take a box of books to the nearest charity shop. I’m in for the foreseeable now , barring a local meet up for coffee in the morning.  My virtual fire is on and I can watch the Traitors later  on my IPad- genius!
