Érowyn
Éowyn is here! The wind is a constant roar in the trees outside, like huge train going through a tunnel. There is the occasional bang outside as something hits the ground and the lights have flickered a few times , but so far things are holding up. Every now and again there is a huge gust which makes me think something important will fly past the window but so far the scaffolding has remained secure. Some of the balconists materials are scattered far and wide over the gardens. They didn’t make much effort to protect them having only been around for 2days this week, so I’m not overly upset.
I did venture out at 9am to see if I could get milk but everything nearby was closed, the University, Sainsbury’s, Starbucks and Söderberg. There was nobody in sight and it felt very spooky. I collected together torches and candles, charged all my IT stuff and filled a hot water bottle in case there was a power cut. I feel I deserve a Girl Guide badge for ‘Emergency Preparation’.
My FP annual coffee morning tomorrow has been cancelled. I feel that is a bit above and beyond but maybe not , we shall see. What has not yet been cancelled is our TGIF drinks later this afternoon. I think I should manage the 100yds to get to the venue without being blown over the Meadows.
