The Same, But Different
Thanks to Loisbiz for the theme of today's Tiny Tuesday challenge. I had an idea in mind before I even got the camera out, wanting to get part of the old Singer softly in the background. I played around a lot with the placement of the two spools of colorful thread, trying to get just enough detail in the machine to make it recognizable but not so much that it stole the show. I'm happy with this and especially like the bright colors of the thread in contrast with the monochromatic tones of the machine. Used my new (refurbished) 70-180 f/2.8 lens which I am coming to love.
Jax's new winter coat arrived today and it doesn't fit! Even in spite of the fact that I carefully measured. The challenge being that just about everything is fabricated in China and sizes sometimes turn out to be a vague suggestions rather than an actual size. Anyway, I have found a different jacket that I think will work better and it should be delivered tomorrow. Meanwhile, Jax is very happy to wear his sweater and keep his trips outside brief.
It was below zero (F) this morning when we woke - expected but nevertheless somewhat shocking when one walks outside. I am one who hates bundling up so I tend to just run out in my clothes if I'm only going to be out for a few minutes - not a great idea today. The highs for the next few days won't get out of the teens so outdoor activities will be kept to a minimum.
Hillyblips and I are headed to Brazil this summer and yesterday we got a notice showing a different date which was going to be a huge problem - luckily, it has all been sorted and we are going ahead with plans for an epic trip.
I am really liking my new haircut - it is a style that is intentionally messy which actually suits me very well. And I can just wash and go if I want. The test will be how easy it is on my upcoming trip to TX.
cheers!
