The Calico Princess

It's hard to believe that Phoebe has been part of our family for 16 years!  She came to us at about 6 months of age, having spent her life prior to that on the street and then in a shelter.  She was a tiny package of fear when we brought her home and it took several weeks before she would venture out of the safety of our linen closet.  You'd never know she was ever a fearful cat now. She's the Dowager of the house.  

We had a nice long FT chat with my parents this morning who are not-so-patiently waiting for the ice around their area to melt.  Looking at their weather for the next week, it looks like a combination of rain and warmer temps will take care of any lingering icy patches.  Here in New Jersey, on the other hand, we are in the deep freeze with temperatures staying stubbornly in the teens and twenties.  Looking ahead, we should finally get above freezing by mid week.  

I had hoped to get Jax and myself out for a walk today, but the temperatures are just too cold so we will try for tomorrow.  

Hubs and I watched "The Family Stone" last night which was a very fun movie with a good cast of actors.  

Dark with nuts today.  And Hubs made pancakes this morning so I am maxed out on sugar!
