Today was book club day. I forgot but my friend texted me and I made it and had a lovely social time, even without having read the book. Tom Lake. I won’t be at the next one, I’m going on a trip, but I can make it to the one after that. 

Russia was hit by a massive internet outage.

Telegram, the social network being used by Russians - the CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in August in France - Telegram is one of the primary means by which the Russian military communicates with its units. Telegram is a critical news source for Russia as it can still say things that the Kremlin isn’t all in favor of. Therefore, the widespread internet disruptions today matter. 

So, you heard that Greenland wants to be part of the US? A Russian politician, Andrew Gurulyov, said that Russia should make a deal with the US if the US manages to acquire Greenland. 

Over the past year, despite all the sacrifices in people, Russia has only gotten back 0.69% of Ukraine. 

Ukraine used six of its British Storm Shadow missiles and US made ATACMs. They hit the Bryansk Chemical Plant, which produces rocket launch systems, artillery, and components for cruise missiles. They hit the Kristal oil plant and refinery. They hit Engels again, the airfield that has Russia’s long-range nuclear bombers, and damaged two industrial sites. Engels had only just extinguished the five day fire from the last attack. A drone hit a gas storage tank in the city of Kazan. Two air defense missile systems were destroyed.
