An ordinary life....

This is it tidy!!!

Firstly thank you so much for your lovely comments on Orla’s arrival yesterday. Mum and baby home now and the four of them are settling into their new routine. We are meeting her on Thursday and I can’t wait :-))

Today D and I had a focussed mission.

Over the festive season my little studio became a bit of a dumping ground, to the point the floor space had stuff covering all of it and I couldn’t actually get in!! So after lunch we got stuck in to getting it cleared out and giving it a bit of a spring clean.

It didn’t take as long as I thought it would so I also took the chance to reorganise some things into more logical spaces. I’m keen to get some painting done but it always amazes me how I just cannot be creative if the space around me is in chaos.

Part of me thinks the urge to create should override everything but working in a guddle fogs my brain and completely blocks any creative thoughts, which is why I have to tidy this space before any painting gets done. There are gaps on the wall as those paintings have either been moved elsewhere in the house or I’ve stolen the frames for other work :-)

It’s now ready for me to finish framing two cyanotype prints we bought a couple of years ago. It’s a fascinating process to create these images and I was so taken with them I bought the paper and chemicals to have a go at creating my own. Of course I haven’t done that yet, but hoping this is the year :-))

Also spent some time crocheting a hat for Orla. Zero to three months size but it will be too big so will attempt a smaller size tomorrow.

Alan’s support worker Penny was back from annual leave today and is over the moon with the Team’s new kitchen. She also approved of the sample of the colour we chose to paint it, but I’ve gone back to dithering as I also love the second choice. Think it might end up putting it to the vote :-))
