FIJNE VERJAARDAG ADMIRER!

Hello Lovely Blippers,

You didn’t know we could speak Dutch, did you?  Well, most of the time we speak “Double Dutch” as it’s known in this country - which means we speak a lot of rubbish - but today we are speaking “proper Dutch” as we remember dear Admirer on her birthday.

Of course, there had to be cake or cakes in our case - and we also decided that there should be chocolate - so we have chocolate cakes, a large bar of chocolate AND of course, especially for those from the Netherlands, Stroopwafels!  Are you getting the feeling we will be having a birthday party?  Then you would be right!

Many of us weren’t around when Admirer started Silly Saturday a long time ago, but we have heard all about her and how she loved to see all the silly things that people did and we know she often giggled at them.

Our gang started with just JH Ted and then we just grew and grew and grew some more!  That would certainly have made Admirer giggle to see how many of us there are.  In fact, even with all of us here, it’s not the whole gang, because some of them have gone to Australia with Kanga, the kangaroo, and they like it so much, they have decided to stay for some time.  Of course, they probably like it more because it is warmer than it is here in the UK, but we hope they will come back sometime.

We also miss Hoggy, Spiky and Porlock, because they have hibernated and won’t be around until sometime in March - but we will be sure to tell them about the party we had for Admirer and they will be sorry they missed it!  There may be some chocolate left, but we won’t bank on it!

As well as all the chocolate, we also had candles, of course, because what is a party without candles on the cake or cakes?  And no doubt there will be hot chocolate with marshmallows - if you are anywhere near, just pop in and there will be something for you to eat - well, if you want the actual chocolate, you may have to come earlier rather than later, because you know that Mrs. HCB is a chocoholic!  Well, we say that, but she doesn’t eat that much now, so you may be lucky if you arrive later.  You will certainly get a warm welcome at the HCBs’ house.

We are sure to play some silly games, well, what is a party without games and we know that Admirer would have giggled when she saw us playing those.

So today, we remember Admirer, a lady, who is loved, missed and remembered by so many people and of course, she started this whole Silly Saturday business.  Yesterday, was the 80th birthday of another Blip friend, Mrs T’s Mum, deanna_pearce, who is also greatly missed on Blip, so no doubt there is still a heavenly party going on today.  Well, you have to celebrate birthdays, don’t you?

I’m sure there are many of you reading this who still think of your loved ones who are no longer with you, not only on their birthday, but all the year round - and it’s good to have those precious memories, isn’t it?

We must also remind you - and you already know this - BE KIND - because you never know what someone is going through and if they look sad, it may be that they are remembering a loved one they have lost, so be EXTRA KIND!

It only remains for us to sing to Admirer, and we will sing it in English, because we know that version better:

P.S.  If you think you can see Christmas tinsel, then you would be right - and we know it's silly, but when Mr. and Mrs. HCB took the decorations down, they forgot this - but we thought it looked good at the party for Admirer and she would have giggled, we know!
