Testing, Testing
A steady day which included pruning in the garden to test out my new skills on a couple of shrub roses. Then it was on to the allotment where I pruned a small apple tree which needed some straight forward treatment. I pondered the more complicated espaliers and decided to leave them for another day when I have more time. Instead I pruned the Tayberries and chopped up the old stems to go onto the beds as mulch.
It’s been much milder today - a balmy 6 degrees. Andy made vegetarian sausage rolls for dinner using mushrooms, chestnuts and leeks. They were so tasty I had two!
I’m planning to have a hot bath and an early night so I can listen to my audiobook in bed.
Wishing you a good evening and hoping your week gets off to a smooth start.
