Magic’s In The Makeup

The Green Room has really lived up to its name this weekend as it’s where the Genie has received a good covering of green makeup over his entire face and neck. Though it has to be said that he’s needed slightly less each performance. Apparently it’s a bugger to get off!
Four shows down now, and they’ve all received great reviews. We’ve really enjoyed doing them as well and there has been a fantastic buzz, both on and off the stage. Due to the young age of this afternoon’s audience, I was “persuaded” to try and introduce the word “ris” into my dialogue. Allegedly, this means “charisma” and I would get great respect from the audience if I used it and showed that I was “down wit da kids”.
Wrong. It went down like a lead balloon and had my fellow cast members wondering if I was having some sort of “episode”. Won’t be doing that again!
Also pictured are the dressing room essentials of a kettle and some honey, necessary for making hot honey and lemon drinks to ease aching vocal cords. Thankfully they’ve not been needed too much and we do have three nights off now before it all starts again on Wednesday.
Well, I say three - I’m at the first rehearsal for the next production I’m in on Tuesday!
