Frosty Patterns

A very heavy frost (again) last night..roll on the heat wave next week!
I like the crystal patterns left on the top of some fence posts, showing up the wood grain.

It was sunny until around 2 pm…and Drax power station (18 miles away) was sending up huge plumes of steam/smoke into the clear blue sky .. see extra.

Not that many years ago there would have been three of these huge plumes, from Ferrybridge, Eggborough and Drax coal fired power stations. Ferrybridge and Eggborough have been decommissioned. There is an ‘incinerator’ type power plant at Ferrybridge and Drax now burns biomass (wood pellets mostly). This two little spots on the plume are coupe of red kites floating around above that hill, not a dirty sensor.
