Fire in the daytime

Boiler still broken.  Vik went to London for the day so I couldn’t stray far from the homestead because of waiting for The Engineer to arrive.  Which he did at midday having sourced a part that was needed.  I kept as busy as I could in the cold, V had started the fire up before he went so I brought in more logs, burned through them and picked up kindling from the lawn.  I also baked a cake The whole thing has gone very Frontiersman.  

At 2.30 Engineer said he needed another part and disappeared to Bognor to get it.  I went to my mother’s with the cake, 

V came back, Engineer came back with the new part but couldn’t get it to work so is bringing another Engineer back on Monday.  

So it’s a cold weekend ahead but at least we have hot water, at least we have two good electric radiators (the ‘leccy bill is going to be through the roof!) and so we kept positive.  And frankly thought of our friends in LA. Big bowl of lentils and spinach from a Rachel Roddy recipe and plunged into Bad Sisters again, it’s not as good as last time but it was still entertaining.
