Sally Mair - Loving life

South Queensferry

Whilst much of the UK continues to suffer as a result of snow, Edinburgh continues to revel in beautifully bright, if cold, Winter's days. In fact, today if you were in the sunshine it wasn't even cold.
I picked Isobel up from school as Eilidh was elsewhere today and took her home. I did think she looked good in her jacket, which was handed down from Eilidh and which I had bought in charity shop about 4 years ago! We've certainly had our money's worth out of it, and they have both loved it.
I took her home where she tucked into the wraps her mum had left for her. She has a healthy appetite, but she's is so very active she burns it all off again!
Eilidh's and her dad got in shortly after and after a brief chat I headed home.
We decided to make the most of our lack of commitments and the good weather and headed for South Queensferry and Orocco Pier.
We had a wander through the town then went for lunch. It's where Ali and Stuart first met in 2012 when they were both working there so we have an affection for it. How their lives (and ours) have changed over the last twelve years.
Most of the pictures in the collage were taken from there. The water was so still and the reflections were beautiful. The moon continues to make an appearance, daytime moons are one of the things I enjoy about Winter.
The extra is of the pond in the garden of Orocco. Just in case anyone forgets how cold it is, the ice is actually at least two inches thick. The restaurant was quiet so we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy being there. Good food, good views and good service - what more could we want!
