Still cold!
This morning I had to be at the rectory for 10. 30 to meet the Dean to have a look at what had been done, in the light of her conversation yesterday with the buildings convenor. It sounds like full steam ahead with the kitchen and a pause on other things which can all be done when the rector is in place, so that's good.
Immediately following on from the Dean was the plumber, who was servicing the boiler/heating system, that's all passed and through as well. He's also quoting for a new radiator.
I had time during his visit to nip to Costa for a coffee and bacon roll and a warm up. To be honest considering the house has been empty and the heating on Frost settings since August, it wasn't too cold. 7.5° , positively tropical compared to the outside temperature.
Back home I put the rest of the Christmas things back in the cupboard and decided that for this year our magi would only make a brief appearance and cleared up the Nativity Scene too. That in turn meant I could move Josie's books back onto the shelf in the hall bookcase which, again in turn, meant I could tidy a couple of shelves in the sitting room too. I do like books to look tidy on a shelf!
I came across Ali's Maisie book signed for her by Aileen Paterson. Not quite so valuable as Katy's signed Harry Potter book.
The next part of the day was spent making the family lasagnes which are ready for pick up now. I also threw all the vegetables hiding in the fridge into the soup maker, lunch tomorrow will be easy.
Ali sent me a pic of Bonnie with her dad, looks like her first word will be neither mummy nor daddy, but Hiya! She's on her feet too.
I've opted out of Online bridge this evening, I'm too tired to concentrate. Have a good evening folks, at least it's going to warm up after a couple more days of this.
Tomorrow we're seeing the older girls, starting with picking Isobel up after school.
My blip is the pond which has almost an inch of ice on it, apart from the small area where there is a low power heater. It's enough to stop the pond completely freezing over in that area and allows the pump to keep working. I love the patterns of ice on the net.
