Tekapo peninsula
We drove to a car park near Mount John, having seen the queue of cars waiting to go up to the observatory, and we decided to do the peninsula walk with Amber in the backpack. She fell asleep within 10 minutes and we enjoyed the sight of the amazingly blue lake waters, seen without enhancement in this blip.
It was a good walk, just the right length and difficulty when you have a toddler to amuse.
Afterwards we were able to drive up to Mount John and see the incredible views from there, as well as visit the cafe.
Spent the afternoon on the lakeside and then shopped and cooked on our last night where we are together
