A new thing!
Wednesday today so church this morning. Ten of us there which isn't bad in these temperatures. My Christmas cake went down very well at coffee time! People are starting to ask when we will be advertising, hopefully we'll have some answers to that question next week.
We decided to go down to Stockbridge for lunch, Colin has hardly been over the threshold this week. We went first to Two Children for some lunch, I had a very nice toasted brioche with avocado, bacon and an egg. I was well filled afterwards, luckily it was an early lunch so I'm looking forward to dinner which had already been pre planned as a half share of a fish supper from the chippy.
We wandered through Stockbridge afterwards, spending time in the Shelter Shop and their famous January Sale of special items.

Most of the exciting things sold last week, but there were some nice things left. I found a couple, one is my blip today. It's fairly recognisable as Alessi, one of my favourite design companies. I think I bought my first items from them before the children were born, so that's well over 40 years, and I still love their things. They specialise in pretty and quirky takes on functional objects although admittedly, some are just pretty! This one is a tea strainer! You lift the bird out of its cage and place it on your cup. The bird then sings until it is replaced in the cage (in actual fact it's the cage that sings but we won't quibble!). I'll use it and add it to my collection of lovely things. It's delightfully smoothly shaped and polished stainless steel
As you can tell I'm very pleased with it. I also bought a set of two Harrods pens in a tin for £3 and some individual letter and number stamps for £2, the girls will like those . Both felt like bargains.
This is the tea strainer for those who'd like to see more. Did I hear someone say something about de-cluttering?

I finished the afternoon making a large pot of Bolognaise sauce for family lasagnes which I'll finish off tomorrow.
Poor Bonnie had 4 jabs today, FOUR, poor wee love.
