2024 in Print!
Last night, my 2024 photo yearbook was delivered to my door! Another year on record...hopefully without any spelling or grammatical errors in it! It doesn't seem to matter how carefully I edit these books before sending them off to print, I still manage to find at least one error! So far, with this one, I have not, but I do not trust my eyes as much as I used to, so there is still a chance that one may show up!
Lots of good things happened today..it was amazing...
My Christmas card from Kent in the UK finally arrived, after lounging somewhere in the mail backlog of our postal strike..and it is a beauty. I save every one of those lovely handmade cards..and am so glad this one got here safely.
My neighbour Elaine came over for morning coffee, something we don't seem to do as often as we used to and we had a good chat. Great way to start the day.
Surprisingly, I had awakened this morning with more energy than I have had in quite some time and after my neighbour left, I actually felt up to cooking something.. Imagine that! The perfect option was my favourite chicken dish - my favourite because it is easy peasy! To cooked chicken, add sauce and put in oven for one hour. The sauce requires only 4 ingredients..but alas, two of the four that were in my fridge were past their expiry date (!) which then meant a trip to the grocery store...which used up a lot of that excess energy!
But at the grocery store were some orchids...heh heh..and two came home with me....and that lifted my spirits enough for me to complete the recipe..and the good thing about that? For once, I knew what I would be having for dinner and it wasn't even noon! (Dinner in this house is usually a last-minute thing.)
And the fun finale to my day's agenda? An afternoon matinee at the local cinema to see Conclave with my friend Noreen. It has been a long time since I have ventured over to the cinema - methinks it was to see Barbie and Oppenheimer? Anyway it was fun and now we are planning to go back Friday to see A Complete Unknown. As a devoted Bob Dylan fan in my youth, there was no way I was going to miss that! Two movies in one week? My social life is looking up!
It was a good day, especially as I had no time to watch CNN or CBC and be reminded of the mess we are in politically and I did not have to listen to Trump ranting on about his plans to take over the world.
