Treats from the sales

Bluecoat Press, who publish some wonderful photobooks, have had a sale. Irresistible. One book of images from a hospital during Covid, from a photographer I hadn't heard of; another of street photography by the wonderful Nick Hedges, whose images of people at work have been long-time favourites.  So this is my rather lazy blip for the day.  Links here, for anyone who'd like a closer look:

Definitely items to savour indoors while all the outdoor surfaces are so treacherous.  I did manage to get out in the car today. The roads were mostly OK, though the pavements were not.  How is it that in our cities, surfaces are cleared for cars but pedestrians are left to totter about, reaching for walls and lamp posts to avoid falling over? I reached what I thought might be the ice-free oasis of the Waitrose car park. Fortunately I noticed the vast expanses of black ice in time... and made my way gingerly to the entrance.  I did chat to the Customer Services staff, who promised that 'we'll get someone out there'. Given the high percentage of 'older' customers who keep them in business, I hope they did that.
