Snow day 3 (with Simone)
Our local roads and pavements were still slippery this morning. Marianna kindly agreed to reverse our usual Tuesday arrangement; usually I pick Simone up at breakfast time and drop her off back at home late in the afternoon. Today Marianna did all the driving. In fact the roads were much better than yesterday, but I was grateful for not having to worry about it.
Simone's Forest School nursery opened as usual yesterday, amazingly. The staff are pretty dedicated. So after a day spent entirely outside in freezing temperatures then, I don't think she minded an indoor day with me today. She's a very robust little girl and she loves the outdoors; my calculation is that the mix works out well - an energetic outdoor Monday at the nursery, and a more laid back Tuesday at our house.
In the picture, if you look at Simone's face closely, you can see a trail of drool. She's still teething, and it really shows. Despite that, we had a lovely day together. Current favourites for Simone include a little wooden tricycle that she's just learned to push along with her feet, and a range of pull-along toys that rattle satisfyingly on the kitchen floor.
Having said all that, by the time Marianna picked her up, around 5.30, I did feel a bit as if I'd run a marathon :-) An early night beckons.
