Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Let there be light!

Light there certainly was this morning. I slept well, eventually, and woke to bright sunshine. What a lovely surprise, it quite lifted my spirits - which to be honest, actually weren't low to begin with.
After a little pottering and further boxing up of Christmas to put in the cupboard till next year, I headed off to the charity shop for the afternoon.
I thoroughly enjoying the shift, two people came in who I haven't seen for ages - one for about 25 years! It was nice to catch up with news. It's a very friendly charity shop, lots of chat and people coming and going and today particularly so for some reason. I think lots of people are clearing out after Christmas too. I picked up a lovely SeaSalt tunic and a very nice little top which will be perfect in India. It's not easy to buy suitable clothes in Scotland in February suitable for a hot climate so the charity shop is a great source.
I stayed till almost 5pm as they were short of volunteers so ended up on the till which always makes me rather neighbours. I just apologise to everyone for being slow before I start, so they are usually quite forgiving and laugh along with me at my efforts.
When I got home we settled down to watch Pointless. After dinner we caught up on last night's quizzes, no spoilers!
It's Wednesday already tomorrow, so church first thing. I'll take some Christmas cake for with our coffee afterwards I think.
Bonnie had another session at nursery today with her dad. She has a day at home tomorrow with mum then she's in nursery on her own for Thursday morning. She's doing well which makes life a little less stressful for Ali.
12 month vaccines tomorrow :-(
My blip is our Christmas tree, out in the garden ready to get chopped up and put in the garden bin for collection next week. Our tried and tested methods is to wrap it up in a large sheet to avoid it shedding too many needles in the way out.
Hope others are not suffering too badly with the weather, we really have been very lucky here thus far.
