Tiny Footprints
Hubby had appointments to have the tires rotated on both his SUV and truck. He said the roads were still covered in packed snow/ice but it seems to be melting a bit. He dropped off soup to Renee and picked up some. Parker helped plow parking lots for 15 hours yesterday. That should start his truck down payment kitty. He advertised on FACEBOOK and has been blowing snow off driveways all day. I had a list of jobs myself. We changed bed linens and washed them, then cleaned the kitchen. Everything we’ll need on the trip is packed and staged to be loaded in the SUV. I checked off several pre-trip items. Our German friend’s package from us and hers to my sister are both lost. Some of our day was used to track them. We now know that our package got to her post office on 6 December but they (the PO) deny receiving it. The other one is still in LaLa land. So frustrating. Our dinner is made and Kristen is sending soup so we are good until we leave Thursday morning. This is definitely soup weather. Temps have not gotten above freezing and the wind is really blowing. I am staying inside for sure. Although, I did go on the back porch this morning. The floor was covered in tiny birdie footprints. They were just too cute not to photograph them. I was feeding them on my patio table and seed spilled on the wooden floor planks. Glad I took the photo when I did. The snow melted and erased the scene. We had some unpleasant excitement in the neighborhood this afternoon. A 16-year neighbor girl was sledding and hit a tree behind her home. The report is that she has a compound leg fracture. There were several emergency vehicles on the scene and a crowd of folks working to get her safely up the steep hills in the forest. Wishing you complete safety as you travel on what could be unsafe paths. Thanks for your visit. “If you walk on snow you cannot hide your footprints.” - George Herbert
