Lichen & Fairies
A very cold night and the frosty patterns on the bedroom window were spectacular this morning but I was too snug to get up and hunt for the camera. Wall to wall sunshine but cold and crisp. I caught the early morning rays as I wandered around the garden looking for something soft for the TT Challenge- the lichen fits the bill, and there were fairies. The ice on the big pond was also casting interesting shapes.
Later we took a gentle wander, Himself managing part of the circuit - slow improvement though he's till very chesty and weak.
After lunch I did a little work in the polytunnel, mindful that one of our house sitters is gardener and I don't want things to look too ramshackle in there! I also cleared up some of the montbretia, which goes manky but the new bright green shoots are already popping up, and cleared duckweed off the small pond, As I put on my gardening gloves, something stung me! I reckon there might have been a hibernating wasp at the end of one finger. It hurt.
And the Australians are going to let me in. Phew.
