The long drive home

Long, yes, but also lovely.

We set off just before ten o'clock, stopping almost immediately in Broadford for diesel, which is when I took this photo. I'm not sure quite why I like it so much. Perhaps because it reminds me of 'Northern Exposure'.

The first part of our journey was beautiful and mildly stressful. The beauty arose from the snowfall, which seemed to have been comprehensive yet delicate and attentive, covering everything we could see.

And stressful because it was still snowing and I wondered if we'd make it home!

But we did, with only a half hour's inexplicable delay towards the foot of Loch Lomond (see Extra). It was just before then that the Minx took this photo, that she was particularly pleased with.

In the end, we went to Salford rather than Kirkby Lonsdale, this primarily due to Dan's rather chaotic situation at the moment as he tries to get ready for this cruise ship job. The extra hour really made a difference, though.

But we recovered by meeting Dan and Hannah in Rusholme for a curry, which proved to be the perfect wind down.
