Wyoming Women

Today is the 100th anniversary of Nellie Tayloe Ross becoming the first and only woman to be governor of Wyoming. She was elected to office after her husband died and finished out his term for several years from 1925-1927. Here is more information about her.
I heard from my roommate that this was happening in about 1/2 an hour at the Wyoming Women's History House and they might need some more women for the photo. They wanted 100 women at least. So I decided to head downtown and crash the party. They had boxes of old hats and as you can see some people came dressed in period costume. We donned hats then came out to the courtyard for a photo. It was taken from across the street on the second floor of the building. It was fun to join in this random (for me) gathering for about a half an hour.
