A Bit of Colour for Today

It’s on a dark, dreich Sunday like today that I thank my lucky stars I have a choice of 3 coffee shops within spitting distance of my door where I can sit and people watch instead of being incarcerated  at home watching wet grass and dripping trees out of the window. I usually meet up with my 2 Merry Widows today but given the dire forecast of snow and icy pavements, they sensibly stayed home. In fact although I didn’t tread pavements it seemed to be more rain and sleet than snow here.

I was asked for a cuppa at my neighbours’ house after lunch. They are new parents of a 3 month old baby and seeing her  brought back memories of what life was like back in the day when everything was so completely centred round a baby. Also the realisation in hindsight that there are so many years ahead of the couple with so many experiences just to see that babe become an adult. It’s quite daunting in retrospect so just as well we don’t know that when all that is important at 3 months  is feeding, sleeping and nappy changing.

I blame the weather for my lack of blip material. I am only able to produce a photo of my  blooming hyacinth,  not any old hyacinth , an M&S hyacinth,  obviously quality.
