When I wake up these mornings, I have to remember which family member has a birthday that day- today it is my Granddaughter in Oman who gets the felicitations.

With all those yellow weather warnings, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I looked out on a still dark morning at 7:30. With no adverse signs I met up with the daughter in the ice free centre of Princes Street but I did notice two small icy patches on the way home. I have issued a warning to my Merry Widows not to meet for coffee tomorrow morning if there is snow or the least chance of slip slidey pavements. It is interesting how terminology changes with age. One falls when young but one has a fall or takes a fall after a certain age. It’s the degree of bounce that matters- nobody bounces late in life , one just breaks.
