Millie - the baby seal?

Liz and Tony invited us to a lunch party at their new house today. For the other guests - Petrina, Stephen, Moray, and Susan - this was their first visit. For us, it was our second: see my blip of 21st May last year

Our conversation over drinks, a four course meal, and tea/coffee with petit fours, was as wide-ranging as usual. For example, we covered: weddings; recent and forthcoming travels (Japan, the US, India, Italy, South America, the Hebrides); caring for elderly parents; gardening; tax, pensions, and wills; illnesses (mainly cataracts, hernias and sporting injuries); university reunions; energy consumption and power cuts; antics of our niblings; dating apps...

Liz and Tony's dog Millie is a grey old lady these days. This is very obvious when you compare this blip with the shot I took of Millie on February 12th 2012. Liz and Tony's daughter Katie knitted the orange 'hat' to help Millie cope with her dog dementia. Apparently the wearing of this kind of garment reduces canine stress. With those big eyes and her ears hidden, I think that Millie looks like a baby seal here.

Also today I packed all Mummy hazelh's newly-labelled clothing and some of her personal belongings (such as family photographs) into a big case in readiness for her big move tomorrow. I had to prioritise the contents because I didn't have room for everything. We dropped off the excess at Paddy's flat so that he can pass this on to my middle sister. She'll drop off the extra items when she calls in on my mother on her route south from Holy Island to West Sussex next week.

Exercise today: none.
