Honoring A Former President
I really slept in today. We had nothing pressing to get me up early. After breakfast, I combined all the Christmas wrapping trash so we could go to the convenience center. Hubby loaded the truck. But it would not start no matter what he did. We left it with the battery charging and used his SUV to go shopping. This massive flag flies over our nephew’s Chevy dealership. It looked so beautiful waving in the breeze. Hubby stopped at the car wash so I could get a photo. Our flags will be at half until former President Carter’s funeral. He was such a good example to many; rolled up his sleeves and helped those in need even into his 90’s. While hubby waited for his meds, I shopped the after Christmas sale at the Exchange. I found some great bargains including the gifts we will take to our Knights’ party next year. I got a few stocking stuffers for the crew and a treat for my sister and Kim. Kim was in town picking up meds so we met her and Brooklyn in the Target parking lot. They really liked the gnome Santa candy filled tin. Hubby picked up some fun gifts to give the TN children. They always want money but now they will have something to open as well. We came home, finished one of Renee’s delicious soups, washed laundry, put away our treasures and hubby checked the status of the truck battery. No change. He reconnected the cables and it started charging. He isn’t satisfied with the situation so he’s headed out to buy a new battery. Peace of mind is so important. It is 43°F at the moment; not sure our precipitation will be snow tonight. But we just got an alert that the rain will turn to snow at 5:00 pm. Too bad it will be dark so we can’t watch it fall. Guess we’ll have to read instead. Wishing you a quiet evening. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “I have learned that our greatest blessings come when we are able to improve the lives of others, and this is especially true when those others are desperately poor or in need.” - Former President Jimmy Carter
