An expensive amaryllis…..

Every year I buy a couple of amaryllis bulbs, usually from M and S or the local garden centre. This year I decided to buy some more expensive ones from Sarah Raven….over £11 each without a pot or compost. I also bought a very cheap one £3.99, (the red one) which was in a pot and already had  two large buds, from Lidl. The Sarah Raven one…called Green Magic is nearly three feet tall and needed supports ( I see she sells them on her website for 10.95! ) So far it has only had one bud/flower. My other 2 Sarah Raven bulbs are about to come into flower.
The photo shows the relative sizes of the flowers and as the Lidl one was only about a foot tall I think it looked better in my house on a window still and definitely much much better value!

Nice to see blue sky again today and although it was cold I went for a nice walk.

Later I did some sorting of all my stationery …paper, card, envelopes, folders etc etc. Also felt tips..some of which I have had for over 10 years and they are still working fine.
