Fireworks

Welcoming the new year has become such a big deal now, for a lot of people; it's become a massive part of the culture here. Almost everyone celebrates, often with fireworks, with some starting to set off them off before it even gets dark. This will continue, sporadically, throughout the evening. With the climax hitting at midnight, when the new year begins, with fireworks being set off for at least an hour afterwards.

I stayed up last night, in bed, with a hot water bottle, and kept an ear out for Little Man, in case the fireworks woke him up, but thankfully he slept through them. He wasn't too keen on the fireworks he saw being released at our friends' place yesterday.

Today has been quiet. We stayed home and relaxed. Caleb came by for dinner, which was lovely. Little Man was full of energy, he had a lot of fun running around and playing with his uncle. He was exhausted by the time I put him in bed and went straight to sleep.
