Happy New Year
It was impressive that the lights on the Twin Towers, the KL Tower and Merdeka 118 were all extinguished just before midnight and then came back on as the fireworks from Souled Out marked the start of 2025. And there were also fireworks from the KL Tower, not as good as Auckland but a definite improvement from last year. The Souled Out fireworks lasted about 5 minutes and there were some others from around the city. Another 4 weeks and there will be more, and longer lasting, for Chinese New Year.
We sat and chatted for a wee bit and drank the pink fizz and then the family headed back to HK. I sat for a bit and then also went to bed. Nala was quite vocal but not annoying. He'd retreated to the bathroom for the fireworks.
I was awake a couple of times in the night and then fully just after 8. Went for a swim and then across to HK for pancakes and strawberries and other very unhealthy accompaniments. After that - pool day. The weather for once was great - lots of sun so there was swimming and sunbathing and lolling in the hot pool and more repeat. In between was a picnic lunch. WH has hurt her knee - she is really hirpling.
Later there will be dinner but the girls have school tomorrow so no late night.
PS worked out why I couldn't post the fireworks early this morning. My Pixel (good pics) was timestamping them as 2024.12.31 though when you looked closer they were actually timed at 0.00 and after 20250101. That's technology for you.
