A day in the life

By Shelling

Cheers everyone

My new years eve was spent on my own. Nice in some ways, sad in others but I had an evening of choice and I'm not complaining. My cooking was very well received and also my choice of a Lebanese wine to the Lamb steak with potato gratin and cold slaw.

For the first time I used the "fire basket" that I bought for last years New years eve but never used. It's in stead of fireworks that I don't use anymore for various reasons.

At twelve, the fireworks over Kalmar was quite spectacular to watch from my veranda towards the west. I always wanted to see them from here, because of the fantastic view, but this year is the firs time I'm celebrating in my home and could see them across the horizon. The photo is rather sparse, in real life I saw a horizon ever changing in flashes of many colours.

I wish you all a somewhat more humanistic year, as a whole, than this last one. I think we, as humans have done pretty awful and need to consider alternatives to bombs, fowl speech, threats and ultimatums which obviously isn't working at all if what we want is a world where we work together to solve each others problems and help each other to find the best solutions in order to benefit to survive on our planet.

Symbolically a new year might be a good time to consider other ways to solve our mutual  wish to live a better life.

Happy new year, everyone.
