Ice Art
The river was noisy and animated this afternoon. The warm temps and rain are breaking up the ice and with the tide flowing out to sea large chunks of ice are slamming into each other forming mini tidal waves and large ice jams. Sounds of ice cracking, crashing into the boardwalk pilings, were quite dramatic. Seagulls seemed unfazed by it all but leashed dogs couldn’t stop barking! Briefly we enjoyed a parade of seagulls passing by on their individual ice floats :) A few mergansers and mallards were about, plus a large flock of Canada Geese, but all kept safely away in the open water • MrsP and I wish everyone safe reveling, and best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year! • Farewell 2024!
