The Rain is Over, for Now
Squirrel Nutkin ventured out to check things out. His assessment, New Year's Eve celebrations can commence! I will be joining friends for an early gathering. (I'll be fast asleep at midnight!) I've also added my favorite book of 2024 in the extras, and my most recently purchased one. I picked it up at the MFA when I visited the O'Keeffe/Moore exhibition recently. Now, I've read just about every biography of my favorite American painter out there, visited her museum in Santa Fe, twice, as well as her home at Abiquiú so I was hesitant. I even flew in 1987 to Washington, DC for a major exhibition of her work 100 years after her birth, twice! What new things could I possibly learn? I was pleasantly surprised, not only by the author's insight into O'Keeffe's life and work but her very humorous writing style. I laughed out loud at some antidotes. I highly recommend it. She's written bio's on Katherine Hepburn and Coco Channel as well which I will probably get "next year". Happy New Year and Happy Hogmanay!
